Dino Morea questioned in Mithi River contract probe
Actor Dino Morea appeared before Mumbai Police on October 2 for questioning in an alleged Mithi River desilting contract scam, as investigators examined his potential links to accused contractor Ketan Kadam. A senior Economic Offences Wing officer said Morea was questioned to verify facts that emerged during the probe. His appearance does not establish wrongdoing, and the nature or relevance of any financial dealings under examination has not been established in the available accounts. The EOW is investigating alleged irregularities in contracts for clearing and desilting the river, including claims of inflated equipment rental rates and other corrupt practices. The case concerns work awarded by the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation. One police account said investigators were examining transactions between Morea and Kadam, but did not specify their amounts, purpose or connection to the contracts. The EOW alleges the case caused a loss of Rs 65.54 crore to the civic body. That figure is an investigative allegation, not a court finding. Police accounts also said three people had been arrested. Those named in the reports include Kadam, Jayesh Joshi and contractor Shersingh Rathod.
