Cricket Australia Approves BBL Privatisation Plan

Cricket Australia has approved a plan to partially privatize the Big Bash League (BBL), allowing state associations to sell up to 49 percent stakes in their teams to private investors. The decision, reached at a Cricket Australia board meeting on Monday, September 7, 2026, is set to usher in a significant shake-up of the sport in the country.
