Commanders Visit Eagles for Week 1 NFC East Opener

Published 13 September 2026

The Washington Commanders visit the Philadelphia Eagles on Sunday, September 13, 2026, for a Week 1 NFC East matchup at Lincoln Financial Field. Kickoff is scheduled for 4:25 p.m. ET, with the game broadcast on FOX. The contest marks the 12th time the division rivals have met in a season opener and the sixth time Washington has opened a campaign in Philadelphia. The Commanders lead the all-time regular-season series 90-87-6 entering the 2026 season. Philadelphia enters the game after significant offseason changes. The Eagles traded star wide receiver A.J. Brown and replaced offensive coordinator Kevin Patullo with Sean Mannion. Additionally, longtime offensive line coach Jeff Stoutland stepped away after 13 seasons. The team's new-look offense will be tested early, with DeVonta Smith positioned as the No. 1 wide receiver. Rookie receiver Lemon is also listed as a starter and the team's top punt returner on the unofficial depth chart. The Commanders, meanwhile, have added wide receiver Stefon Diggs and tight end Chig Okonkwo for the 2026 season. Quarterback Jayden Daniels, who missed both games against Philadelphia last season, is expected to lead the offense.
