Navarro Alleges Fox Punished Bartiromo Over Leaked Guidance

Published 10 September 2026

Maria Bartiromo's departure from Fox News Media, announced Sept. 3 as a business decision, has become the center of a public dispute after White House trade adviser Peter Navarro alleged she was removed for forwarding internal network guidance to the Trump administration. Fox has not confirmed that account, and Bartiromo's attorney has disputed reports that she was fired. Fox announced that Bartiromo, who hosted Mornings with Maria, Maria Bartiromo's Wall Street and Sunday Morning Futures, was no longer with the company after more than 12 and a half years, describing the move as a business decision. The network renamed her programs and said rotating anchors would fill in while it searches for a permanent host for the Sunday show. According to Navarro, who laid out his claims in a Washington Times op-ed and in a Newsmax interview, Bartiromo booked him to appear on her Fox Business program the morning after President Donald Trump's July 16 primetime address on election security and alleged Chinese interference.
