Combs’ projected release date moves to March 2, 2028

Published 8 October 2026

Federal Bureau of Prisons records now project Sean Combs will be released on March 2, 2028, moving his expected date back from January 21, 2028. The database change is documented, but the agency has not explained why it was made or confirmed that it resulted from alleged misconduct at the prison. The revised projection comes as reports describe claims by four men who shared Combs’s unit at the Federal Correctional Institution in Fort Dix, New Jersey. They alleged that he had access to a contraband cellphone and received cooking, cleaning, laundry and massage services from other inmates. The accounts are allegations, not established findings in the material available about the date change. Combs is serving a 50-month sentence after a jury convicted him on two counts of transportation to engage in prostitution. The jury acquitted him of racketeering conspiracy and sex trafficking. He is appealing his conviction and sentence. A representative for Combs said the defense had not received official findings or an explanation of the reported disciplinary action.
