Colts GM says Keenan Allen will play Week 1 after DUI arrest

Published 2 September 2026

Indianapolis Colts general manager Chris Ballard announced Tuesday that veteran wide receiver Keenan Allen will remain with the team and is expected to play in the season opener despite his arrest early Sunday morning on misdemeanor drunken driving charges. Ballard stated the organization has handled the matter internally and expressed full confidence in Allen's character. Allen, 34, was taken into custody by the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department at approximately 1 a.m. on August 31, less than 12 hours after making his preseason debut with the Colts.
