Coleman-Williams Exits Twice in Alabama’s Loss to Georgia
Alabama wide receiver Ryan Coleman-Williams left the Georgia game twice with injuries and did not return after his second exit, as the Crimson Tide lost 20-17 on Oct. 10. Coach Kalen DeBoer said after the game that Coleman-Williams had a head injury. A confirmed diagnosis and recovery timeline were not reported. The first injury occurred late in the second quarter, when Coleman-Williams went down after a pass from quarterback Keelon Russell in the end zone. He could not put pressure on his left leg and was helped off by Alabama’s training staff. He returned after halftime and played in the second half. Coleman-Williams left again after a later pass was broken up by Georgia defensive back Demello Jones. He went to the locker room and did not come back. DeBoer identified the injury as involving Coleman-Williams’s head, but did not provide further details. A separate report said he was being evaluated for a possible concussion; that was not presented as a confirmed diagnosis. The loss was decided by Georgia kicker Peyton Woodring’s field goal with 5:19 remaining. Coleman-Williams finished with three catches for 39 yards, the most receiving yards among Alabama players in the game.
