Coast Guard air and surface crews were deployed to search waters off Nantucket, Massachusetts. The Federal Aviation Administration and the Rescue Coordination Center were also assisting, according to one account. The search remained underway Saturday, and officials said they would provide updates as they became available. The aircraft was operated as an air ambulance by Latitude Air Ambulance, a medical aviation company based in Hamilton, Ontario, according to the reports. Officials had not released the names of the six people aboard.
