Circle to End USDC Support on Noble by January 2027

Published 11 September 2026

Circle, the issuer of the USDC stablecoin, announced on September 10, 2026 that it will discontinue support for USDC and its legacy CrossChain Transfer Protocol V1 on the Noble blockchain, ending the network's role as the native issuance platform for the stablecoin within the Cosmos ecosystem. The wind-down is part of Circle's broader migration to CCTP V2, an upgraded crosschain protocol that will not be deployed on Noble. Under the announced timeline, Circle Mint customers can continue operating on Noble as usual through October 12, 2026. New USDC minting on the network will be disabled on October 13, 2026, while redemptions will remain available for three additional months. The USDC token will remain transferable between Noble addresses during this exit period, and Circle is not immediately freezing balances or halting ordinary onchain transfers. Crosschain capacity will narrow before the final cutoff. CCTP V1 burn limits from Noble will begin declining on October 31, 2026, gradually scaling toward zero. After December 1, 2026, exits may be limited to chains that still accept CCTP V1 burns, as other destination networks disconnect their legacy integrations.
