Cheryl Reeve ties record with third WNBA executive award
Cheryl Reeve has won the WNBA’s 2026 Executive of the Year award, her third, tying Dan Padover for the most wins in the award’s history. Reeve is the Minnesota Lynx head coach and president of basketball operations. The league announced the result on Monday, October 12, according to the supplied reports. Reeve previously won the executive honor in 2019 and 2024. She also received the 2026 Coach of the Year award, her fifth, making her the first person to win both awards in the same season twice. She also achieved that double in 2024. Curt Miller is the only other person reported to have won both awards in one season, in 2017 with the Connecticut Sun. The voting panel included one executive from each of the WNBA’s 15 teams, and executives could not vote for themselves. Reeve appeared on 13 ballots, compared with 11 for Padover, the Atlanta Dream’s executive vice president and general manager, and eight for Ohemaa Nyanin, general manager of the Golden State Valkyries. The reported ballot totals show Reeve leading the vote; the award’s recognition is separate from the Lynx’s playoff result.
