BJP condemns CJP protest as failed bid to create unrest
BJP leaders on Saturday condemned protests at Delhi’s Jantar Mantar over alleged election irregularities, calling the demonstration a failed attempt to create unrest and saying it did not represent the country’s wider mood. Their claims about the protesters’ intentions and public sentiment were political assertions, not independently established in the material reviewed. BJP spokesperson and MP Sambit Patra described the Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) protest as a “flop show” and said India was calm and moving forward under the party’s governance. He alleged that protesters had tried to create unrest in the capital and said democracy had prevailed over what he called “mobocracy.” Former Union minister Ravi Shankar Prasad also accused opposition parties of using street demonstrations after electoral defeats. He said events over the previous days showed that India would be governed through Parliament rather than the streets. Prasad cited BJP election victories as evidence that voters had rejected the opposition’s position. BJP president Nitin Nabin accused the INDIA bloc and CJP of seeking to destabilise the country.
