Binance Adds Cross-Border Crypto Checks in Brazil
Binance will require customers in Brazil to provide information about the purpose and counterparty of cross-border cryptocurrency transfers starting November 1, the exchange said. The checks will apply to transfers involving nonresidents, including customers sending assets to or receiving them from their own accounts on overseas exchanges. Transfers between Brazilian residents will be unaffected. Binance said customers must complete the required information before submitting an international withdrawal. Incoming deposits may remain pending while the exchange requests missing details and, in some cases, may be returned if the information is not provided. The new process is attributed to Resolution BCB No. 521/2025, which brings international virtual-asset transfers within Brazil’s foreign-exchange reporting framework. For each transfer, customers will be asked to state its purpose and identify the counterparty by type. Corporate customers must also indicate whether the counterparty belongs to the same economic group. Binance said the information will be sent to Brazil’s central bank in monthly reports.
