Billy Baldwin Recounts Sliver Set Tension, Kissing Request

Published 10 September 2026

Billy Baldwin has detailed significant on-set tension with his former "Sliver" co-star Sharon Stone, recounting how the strained relationship led him to request that a final love scene be staged without a kiss. Baldwin shared his account during a recent appearance on the "Lisa Guerrero Unleashed" podcast, describing a period of several months where Stone allegedly refused to acknowledge him. According to Baldwin, the atmosphere on the set of the 1993 erotic thriller became so uncomfortable that he approached director Phillip Noyce and producer Robert Evans. He stated that while three of the film's four love scenes had already been filmed amicably early in production, he could not proceed with the final one as scripted. Baldwin recalled telling producers, "I can do the scene, but just please don't make me kiss her. I can't kiss her." Baldwin claimed that his request resulted in the film's climactic love scene being staged without an on-camera kiss between their characters, Zeke Hawkins and Carly Norris. This account contrasts with Sharon Stone's recollection in her 2021 memoir, "The Beauty of Living Twice.
