Beni Rae Harmony Joins White House Communications Team

Published 3 October 2026

Beni Rae Harmony has confirmed she is joining the Trump administration as an assistant White House press secretary and spokesperson, moving from her role as a correspondent covering the administration to a position on its communications team. The White House press secretary post remains vacant, and no permanent successor to Karoline Leavitt has been announced. Harmony announced the appointment on X on Friday, October 2. White House Principal Deputy Press Secretary Anna Kelly also confirmed the hire, saying Harmony would be an addition to the communications team. Reports say Harmony is expected to begin the job on Monday, October 5; the White House has not announced that she has started. The appointment places Harmony in a different role from the one she held as a White House correspondent for Real America’s Voice. She joined the network in September 2025 and had covered the administration, including as a member of the White House press pool. Her move puts her inside the communications operation she had been reporting on. The assistant position does not make her the administration’s lead spokesperson at the press secretary level.
