BCCI arranges county stint for Auqib Nabi ahead of NZ Tests

Published 29 August 2026

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) is arranging a short-term county cricket stint in England for fast bowler Auqib Nabi as part of preparations for India's crucial Test series against New Zealand. The move aims to provide the Jammu and Kashmir pacer with competitive match practice in overseas conditions ahead of the two-match series scheduled for November. Nabi, who was the leading wicket-taker in the 2025-26 Ranji Trophy season with 60 scalps, was named as a replacement for Jasprit Bumrah in India's recent Test squad against Sri Lanka but did not feature in the playing XI.
