Bank of America to Add 1,000 Apprentices, Invest $150M

Published 24 September 2026

Bank of America said Thursday it will hire 1,000 additional apprentices over the next two years and invest $150 million in workforce-development organizations over five years, expanding its paid training programs as the bank continues to emphasize skills-based hiring. The new positions will be added to the more than 800 apprentices the bank already hires annually. Bank of America said the roles will span consumer banking, technology, operations and other business areas. It said the investment will support organizations that equip people with in-demand skills and connect them with career opportunities. The company described its apprenticeships as paid, structured programs combining practical work with professional training. The bank said about 40% of its current hires do not have a bachelor’s degree. It did not provide a regional breakdown of the additional positions, leaving unclear how many apprentices will be placed in particular cities or business areas.
