Australian Cyborg Cockroaches Designed for Search-and-Rescue Medical Aid
Australian researchers have developed cyborg cockroaches equipped with cameras and miniature medical injectors, creating a potential new tool for search-and-rescue teams to deliver emergency care to people trapped in collapsed buildings, caves, or other dangerous locations. The insects, dubbed "paraborgs," are designed to navigate debris-filled spaces where human rescuers and conventional robots cannot easily reach. The technology was developed by a team from the University of Queensland and the University of New South Wales.
