ASML raises 2026 sales outlook, warns of supply shortfall
ASML reported record third-quarter sales of €11.66 billion on October 14 and raised the lower end of its 2026 sales forecast, while warning that current production plans will not meet customer demand in 2027 and 2028. The Dutch semiconductor equipment maker said demand forecasts are rising as customers plan investments in artificial intelligence infrastructure. Net sales were up 55% from a year earlier, and net income reached €4.96 billion. ASML now expects full-year 2026 net sales of €44 billion to €45 billion, compared with its previous forecast of €43 billion to €45 billion. It forecast fourth-quarter sales of €14.2 billion to €15.2 billion and a gross margin of about 57%. Chief Executive Christophe Fouquet said customers’ short- and medium-term equipment demand forecasts continue to increase, driven largely by expectations for the scale and duration of AI-related investment. He said ASML’s existing production plans would fall short of demand in 2027 and 2028. The company is examining ways to increase its 2028 capacity beyond a previously announced 30% rise, Fouquet said. ASML has not announced a revised capacity target.
