Arsenal extend Arteta’s contract through 2030

Published 7 October 2026

Arsenal have extended manager Mikel Arteta’s contract through June 2030, committing to the coach who led the club to its first Premier League title in 22 years and a return to the Champions League final. The agreement was announced Wednesday. Arteta, who took charge in 2019, said he was privileged to continue at the club and described the extension as the beginning of what they could achieve together. The financial terms were not disclosed in the club’s announcement. Chief executive Richard Garlick said the long-term commitment strengthened the partnership between Arteta and Arsenal and gave the club a competitive advantage. He said Arsenal wanted to build on their league title rather than treat it as the end of their progress. The club’s co-chairmen, Stan and Josh Kroenke, also expressed support for continuing their relationship with the manager. Arteta’s new deal follows a season in which Arsenal won the league after a 22-year wait and reached the Champions League final, where they lost to Paris Saint-Germain. The title came after three consecutive second-place finishes, according to the reports. Arsenal are now preparing to defend their league championship.
