Archana Puran Singh's family defends Samay Raina over jokes
Archana Puran Singh and her son Aaryamann Sethi have publicly defended comedian Samay Raina after his jokes about their family on the show "India's Got Latent 2" sparked online criticism. The family stated they were not offended by the remarks, which included Raina referring to the men in the family as "nalle" (useless) while discussing their family vlogs. The controversy stems from an episode of "India's Got Latent 2" in which Archana Puran Singh appeared as a panelist. During the segment, Raina made jokes about her husband, actor Parmeet Sethi, and their sons, Aaryamann and Ayushmaan. He commented on their family vlogs, saying, "I have seen your vlogs neither does your husband work, nor do your two nalle sons." Archana's sons were seated in the front row at the time. Archana herself joined the banter, telling her sons, "I had told you earlier not to sit in the front row. This is not how you get fame. This is how you get humiliated." Raina also joked about "reverse patriarchy," noting that Archana was the only working member of the family. The exchange circulated widely on social media, with some viewers arguing that Raina had crossed a line.
