Apple TV releases trailer for Nocturne, sets October 30 debut

Apple TV released a trailer and key art for Nocturne on September 29, introducing a 10-episode crime drama starring Liev Schreiber, Zazie Beetz and Stephen Graham. The series is scheduled to premiere globally on October 30, with two episodes, followed by weekly releases through December 25, according to Apple TV’s announcement. The story follows Jonah Lynn, played by Schreiber, a former soldier who becomes a homicide detective. After leaving Philadelphia for a quieter life in a small town in Western Pennsylvania, Jonah faces a case involving serial killer Jurek Walter, played by Graham. Apple TV’s synopsis says Jonah sends FBI Agent Saga Bauer, played by Beetz and described as his surrogate daughter, to confront Walter while investigators search for the killer’s last missing victim. The announced ensemble also includes Bill Camp, Rory Culkin, Chrissy Metz, Poorna Jagannathan and Gary Carr. Apple TV identifies Schreiber, Beetz and Graham as the lead performers. Beetz also serves as an executive producer, as does Schreiber. Nocturne is based on The Sandman, a crime novel by Lars Kepler, the shared pen name of Swedish authors Alexandra Coelho Ahndoril and Alexander Ahndoril.
