Anthony Vaccarello Leaves Saint Laurent After a Decade
Kering and Saint Laurent confirmed on October 9 that Anthony Vaccarello is leaving his role as the fashion house’s creative director after about a decade. The company said it would announce new creative leadership soon but did not name a successor. Vaccarello joined Saint Laurent in 2016, succeeding Hedi Slimane. Kering chief executive Luca de Meo thanked him for his contribution over the past 10 years, saying his creative vision and standards had strengthened the influence of the French fashion house. Saint Laurent chief executive Cédric Charbit also thanked the designer for his work and cultural impact. The departure follows Vaccarello’s Spring 2027 show in Paris on September 29, which was described in reports as his final collection for the house. The designer marked the news with a video of his work on Instagram and the phrase “A bientôt.” During his tenure, Vaccarello developed a distinctive approach to Saint Laurent’s designs, drawing on the house’s established style while emphasizing sharp tailoring, strong silhouettes and sensuality. He also broadened the brand’s cultural activities.
