Angel Reese breaks WNBA single-game and single-season rebounding records

Published 25 August 2026

Angel Reese made WNBA history on Monday night, August 24, 2026, grabbing a record 26 rebounds as the Atlanta Dream defeated the Los Angeles Sparks 78-71 at Crypto.com Arena. The performance broke the league's single-game rebounding record and also set a new mark for rebounds in a season, cementing Reese's status as one of the most dominant rebounders in the sport's history. Reese surpassed the previous single-game record of 24 rebounds, set by Hall of Famer Chamique Holdsclaw in 2003. She also broke the single-season record of 451 rebounds, which was established by A'ja Wilson in 2024. Reese now has 458 rebounds for the season, a total that places her seven clear of Wilson's previous mark.
