Adobe launches Premiere mobile app for Android

Adobe has released its Premiere mobile video editing app for Android, roughly a year after the app launched on iOS, making it available for download on Google Play. The app is free, with core editing capabilities available at no cost. Users can split, trim, crop and merge footage, adjust video speeds, and add text, effects and audio layers such as voiceovers. Adobe says users can export an unlimited number of 4K videos with no watermarks. The app does not require a Creative Cloud subscription or an account login to use its core editing tools, and it is ad-free. Optional in-app purchases are available for generative AI credits and additional cloud storage. The app includes Firefly-powered AI features such as Generative Fill, Image to Video and Generate Sound Effects, along with an Enhance Audio tool that reduces background noise. Reports differ on whether these AI features require an Adobe account and a Creative Cloud subscription or a separate generative AI plan, which Adobe prices at $8 per month or $70 per year. To install the app, devices must run Android 13 or later with at least 5GB of RAM.
