Adidas cuts tech roles in India, affecting less than 20% of workforce

Adidas has reduced roles within its India Technology organization, stating the restructuring affected less than 20% of its tech workforce in the country. The company confirmed the move in a statement, describing it as part of efforts to align its operating model with evolving business needs and strengthen critical capabilities for long-term success. The restructuring was communicated to employees at the Gurugram Global Engineering Tech Hub during a town hall on September 15. Reports indicate approximately 350 employees at the facility were affected, including software engineers, data scientists, and data engineers. Adidas has not publicly confirmed the specific number of roles reduced. Affected employees were divided into two groups. Some received exit letters on September 15, while others were asked to continue working until December to facilitate knowledge transfer to other Adidas technology hubs. Employees in the second group have until December 15 to apply for other open positions internally. Those who do not secure a new role will exit the company.
