Adeyemi Remanded After Pleading Not Guilty to Eight Charges

Published 2 October 2026

Adeniyi Adeyemi pleaded not guilty to eight charges in the Federal High Court in Abuja and was remanded at the Kuje Correctional Centre pending a hearing on his bail application, set for October 12, 2026. The charges allege conspiracy, forgery and impersonation connected to a purported government agency. They have not been adjudicated. Justice Mohammed Umar ordered Adeyemi held after the prosecution sought remand while the case proceeds. His lawyer told the court that a bail application had been filed and served on the prosecution. The judge did not hear it that day, citing the court’s workload, and scheduled it for October 12. The case is also set to continue then, according to reports of the proceedings. The eight-count charge names Adeyemi and two people identified as Femi and Anu, who remain at large. Prosecutors allege that the three conspired to forge official documents, including an appointment letter purportedly issued by President Bola Tinubu and signed by Chief of Staff Femi Gbajabiamila.
