Zuckerberg and Chan pledge €150,000 to Waterford GAA clubs

Mark Zuckerberg and Priscilla Chan have announced a total of €150,000 for three Gaelic Athletic Association clubs in County Waterford, with each club set to receive €50,000 over two years, according to statements from the couple and the clubs. The recipients are Shamrocks GAA in Knockanore, Tallow GAA and Lismore GAA, all near Strancally Castle, which the couple bought in August. The clubs have outlined different uses for their allocations. Shamrocks plans to upgrade its dressing rooms. Tallow intends to support coaching and games and contribute to a spectator stand and the tarmacking of a community walkway. Lismore said the money would support development work, with proposed projects including floodlighting, pitchside fencing and a community walkway. These are plans rather than completed improvements.
