Zelenskyy Open to Meeting Putin at Miami G20 Summit

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has stated he is open to meeting Russian President Vladimir Putin at the G20 summit in Miami in December, provided Putin attends. The comments, made in an interview with Deutsche Welle, mark a significant diplomatic signal amid the ongoing war in Ukraine. Zelenskyy confirmed he would travel to Florida for the summit, scheduled for December 14-15, if Putin is also present. "Yes, of course. We must come. We must meet, talk, and make decisions," Zelenskyy said, emphasizing that any meeting must prioritize tangible outcomes over rhetoric. "It is not about words. What I tell him, or what he wants to tell me that does not matter. What matters are results," he added. The Kremlin has not yet confirmed whether Putin will attend the summit. Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov and aide Yuri Ushakov have indicated that no decision has been made regarding Putin's participation. A senior US official reportedly confirmed that the United States will invite Putin to the G20, though President Donald Trump expressed uncertainty over whether Putin would accept.
