Zelensky warns of new massive Russian attack on Ukraine

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said intelligence indicates that Russia is preparing a new massive attack against Ukraine, warning that Moscow could also strike other European countries as it seeks to weaken Western support for Kyiv. Zelensky made the remarks in statements published on September 22 and in interviews following his meeting with U.S. President Donald Trump on the sidelines of the United Nations General Assembly in New York. "There's intelligence right now that Russia is preparing a new massive attack against Ukraine," Zelensky wrote on Telegram, adding that Ukraine is working with allies to strengthen its air defenses. Speaking to reporters after his talks with Trump, Zelensky said the risk of a Russian offensive using drones, missiles or land operations against countries bordering Russia or Belarus is very high. He argued that Russian President Vladimir Putin, unable to secure decisive victories in Ukraine, could try to fracture European unity and reduce support for Kyiv. Zelensky said Putin faces growing pressure at home to justify the war's mounting costs, citing Russian losses of 32,000 to 33,000 troops per month among one million deployed abroad.
