A dispute has erupted over two planned concerts by the rapper Ye, formerly known as Kanye West, in St. Petersburg, Russia, after the venue set to host the events abruptly stated no rental agreement was signed, while the promoter insisted the shows remain scheduled. The conflict has fueled speculation of political pressure and left over 100,000 ticket holders in uncertainty. The concerts were announced for October 10 and 11 at the Gazprom Arena, a 68,000-seat stadium. The venue itself promoted the shows on its social media channels around August 17, calling Ye "one of the most influential musical artists of our time.
