XRP Ledger Sets Transaction Record With 3,254 in Single Block

The XRP Ledger set a single-ledger transaction record on Sept. 13, processing 3,254 transactions in one block, according to validator operator Hussein Zangana, known as Vet. The activity was driven by a burst of 1-drop payments from 20 wallets, but the sender's identity and purpose remain unconfirmed. The record belongs to ledger index 106,965,249, which closed on Sunday, Sept. 13. Zangana flagged the figure after reviewing the ledger, and data trackers confirmed the high count. The record surpassed two earlier marks of 2,713 and 2,768 transactions that occurred within the same day. Analysis of the ledger showed that 20 accounts each sent exactly 100 transactions, totaling 2,000 payments of 1 drop, the smallest unit of XRP. These payments moved a combined 0.002 XRP, worth less than a cent at current prices. Each transaction paid a 20-drop fee, so the batch burned approximately 0.04 XRP, or about five cents. The remaining transactions included 458 OfferCreate orders on the network's decentralized exchange, 229 ticket creations, and 74 check cashes. At least 890 transactions failed with tec result codes, mostly payments whose paths ran dry.
