Xiaomi Opens China Sales of 18 Pro and Pro Max

Xiaomi opened sales of its 18 Pro and 18 Pro Max smartphones in China on September 23, introducing two flagship models with dual 200-megapixel Leica cameras, rear displays and large batteries. The company has not yet identified the international markets or dates for a planned global launch later in 2026. The 18 Pro starts at 5,999 yuan, about $895, and the Pro Max at 6,999 yuan, about $1,045, according to a post-launch report. Higher-memory configurations reach 8,999 yuan for the Pro and 9,999 yuan for the Pro Max. Those prices and configuration details were reported after an earlier account said Xiaomi had not yet disclosed China pricing. The phones share a 200-megapixel main camera and a 200-megapixel telephoto camera, both described in reports as Leica-branded. They also have a secondary display on the back and screens with a reported peak brightness of 4,000 nits. The rear display can show notifications, access compatible apps and display simple animations, according to post-launch coverage. Reports also describe a hardware privacy feature in the front display.
