Xiaomi launches Redmi Note 17 Pro and Pro Max in India
Xiaomi has launched two new premium smartphones in India, the Redmi Note 17 Pro and Redmi Note 17 Pro Max, expanding its Note 17 series. The devices were announced on September 15, 2026, and are positioned to compete in the mid-to-high-end segment of the Indian market. The Redmi Note 17 Pro Max is the higher-spec model, starting at Rs 49,999 for the 8GB RAM and 256GB storage variant. It is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 6 Gen 5 processor and features a 6.83-inch 1.5K OLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate. A key highlight is its large 10,000mAh silicon-carbon battery, which supports 100W fast charging. The phone also includes a 50MP main camera with optical image stabilisation and an 8MP ultrawide lens, along with a 32MP front camera. The Redmi Note 17 Pro begins at Rs 36,999 for the 8GB/128GB configuration. It uses the Snapdragon 6s Gen 4 chipset and comes with a 9,000mAh battery that supports 67W fast charging. Its camera setup consists of a 50MP main sensor and an 8MP ultrawide camera, paired with a 16MP selfie camera. Both models run on Android 16-based HyperOS 3 and are promised four years of major operating system updates and six years of security updates.
