Xiaomi 18 Fold Officially Announced

Xiaomi has officially announced its latest foldable device, the Xiaomi 18 Fold, featuring a wide-format design that aims to compete with other premium foldable smartphones. The device was unveiled during an event in China, with availability in that market set to begin on September 10, 2026. The Xiaomi 18 Fold sports a design that is compact when closed, opening to reveal a larger internal display. It features a 5.38-inch outer display and a 7.58-inch main display. This form factor has been described as a "passport-style" or "midfold" design, offering a wider aspect ratio that is considered by some to be more natural for viewing content. The device includes thin bezels around both displays and a centered camera hole on the cover screen. Under the hood, the foldable is powered by Xiaomi's new in-house XRING O3 processor. The phone is available with either 12GB or 16GB of RAM and offers storage options up to 1TB. Durability features include a custom hinge mechanism, an aluminum alloy frame, and protective glass layers. The camera system comprises a 200-megapixel main sensor, a 50-megapixel periscope telephoto lens with 3.5x optical zoom, and a 50-megapixel ultrawide camera.
