X Launches One-Tap Trading Links for US Users

X has launched a new feature in the United States that allows users to trade stocks, exchange-traded funds, and cryptocurrencies directly from the social media platform's timeline. The U.S. Cashtag Partner Program, announced on September 16, 2026, adds a "Trade" button to Cashtags, which are ticker symbols prefixed with a dollar sign that have long been used to organize financial discussions on the platform. The program connects users to five initial brokerage and exchange partners: Interactive Brokers, Moomoo, Gemini, Kraken, and Coinbase. When a user taps a supported Cashtag, they can view a live price chart and related posts on X. Selecting the new "Trade" option then redirects them to their chosen partner's app or website to complete a transaction. X itself does not execute any trades; it acts as a gateway, routing users to the partner platforms where all account setup, verification, and trading occur. "With our Cashtag partners, we're connecting the financial conversation to action," said Monique Pintarelli, head of global advertising at SpaceXAI, which operates X.
