World of Sweets recalls two Alyan chocolates over salmonella

World of Sweets is recalling two Alyan chocolate products after salmonella was detected, and the Food Standards Agency is advising customers not to eat them and to return them to the retailer for a full refund. The recall covers every best-before date of both products. The affected items are Alyan Dubai Style Chocolate Truffles, in 120-gram packs with product code 319456, and Alyan Dubai Style Crunchy Knafeh and Pistachio Milk Chocolate, in 100-gram packs with product code 318591. The agency’s notice identifies the presence of salmonella as the reason for the recall. Customers who bought either product should not consume it and should return it to the store where it was purchased, the agency said. World of Sweets customers who ordered directly from the company are advised to contact its customer-service team with their order number and the number of affected products. The company says it may arrange collection or ask customers to dispose of the product safely and provide proof before a refund is processed. Tesco has separately told customers that its affected Alyan pistachio chocolate can be returned to any Tesco store for a full refund without a receipt.
