Wisconsin Man Cited for Tripping 9-Year-Old at Youth Football Game

A 41-year-old man was cited for disorderly conduct after police say he ran onto a youth football field and intentionally tripped a 9-year-old player during a game in Mount Pleasant, Wisconsin. The incident occurred on Saturday, August 22, during a 10U matchup between the Racine Eagles and Milwaukee Colts at Case High School. The man, a parent of a player on the visiting Milwaukee Colts team, was not publicly identified and was released after being cited. According to Mount Pleasant police, the man became upset over a play during the game. He left the sideline, walked onto the field while the game was in progress, and extended his leg into the path of a Racine Eagles player, causing the child to fall. The man also went to the ground during the incident. The child was not injured. The event was captured on cellphone video, which shows the adult leaving the sideline and making his way onto the playing surface. Police stopped the man shortly after he left the game while he was driving nearby. Authorities said he was cooperative during the traffic stop and admitted to his actions.
