Wife of Army sergeant deported to Honduras

The wife of an active-duty U.S. Army sergeant was deported to Honduras on August 25, according to her family and the U.S. Department of Homeland Security. The deportation of Cristy Maryori Villafranca-Trejo marks at least the seventh instance of a spouse or parent of a U.S. service member being removed from the country as part of the Trump administration's expanded immigration enforcement. Villafranca-Trejo is the wife of Army Sgt. Hedar Leonel Turcios Juarez, who is stationed at Fort Bliss, Texas. The deportation was confirmed by DHS, which stated she received due process. According to the agency, Villafranca-Trejo, who has no known criminal record and entered the U.S.
