Wasim Akram Criticizes PSL for Failing to Produce Batting Talent

Former Pakistan captain Wasim Akram has criticized the Pakistan Super League for failing to produce a single noteworthy batting talent in its decade-long history, contrasting the league's output with the emergence of Indian prodigy Vaibhav Suryavanshi. Akram's comments, made amid Pakistan's ongoing struggles in a Test series in England, highlight concerns about the country's talent development pipeline. Akram stated that while the PSL has successfully unearthed quality bowlers, it has not delivered a comparable batting talent. "It has been 10 years since the PSL started, but has a single batter been produced by the PSL? Yes we have produced a few bowlers but tell me have we produced any noteworthy batting talent," he said. He cited the example of 15-year-old Indian batter Vaibhav Suryavanshi, who has made a significant impact in the Indian Premier League and on the international stage, as the kind of talent the PSL should aim to produce.
