Wahlberg aboard plane that skidded into Las Vegas airport fence
A private aircraft carrying actor Donnie Wahlberg skidded off a runway and struck a perimeter fence during an aborted takeoff at Harry Reid International Airport in Las Vegas on October 18. Wahlberg said he and the other passengers were safe; the cause of the incident remains under investigation. The Federal Aviation Administration said the aircraft was a Dassault Falcon 50 with eight people aboard and was scheduled to fly to Toronto Pearson Airport. The airport said the general aviation aircraft went off runway 1L on departure and contacted the perimeter fence. It reported no known injuries at the time of its statement. Wahlberg, who shared a video and account of the incident on Instagram, said the plane did not get airborne and ran out of runway. He said the pilots brought the aircraft off the runway and that it avoided nearby trucks and other equipment before contacting the fence. Wahlberg said he was aboard with members of his team and that everyone was safe. In his post, Wahlberg thanked the pilots and emergency personnel who responded at the airport. He described the moments as intense and said the aircraft was damaged, while he and the other passengers were not hurt....
