Volvo Unveils 13 New Models by 2030 in Biggest Product Push

Published 17 September 2026

Volvo has announced its most ambitious product offensive in the company's 99-year history, planning to launch 13 new models by the end of 2030. The Swedish automaker revealed the strategy at an investor day in Stockholm, with CEO Håkan Samuelsson stating that showrooms will look very different by 2030. The lineup will be split regionally, with seven models designated for Western markets including the United States, Europe, and the United Kingdom, and six models developed exclusively for China. The range will include both fully electric vehicles and third-generation hybrids, marking a shift from Volvo's earlier pledge to go fully electric. This approach acknowledges customer reluctance to adopt fully electric vehicles and aims to provide a transition through advanced hybrids. A key element of the plan is the next electric car, set to launch in 2027 and built on the new SPA3 architecture. This platform is designed to support a variety of body styles, including sedans and estates, allowing Volvo to enter new segments such as electric estate cars.
