Volvo Expands Connected Safety With New Hazard Alerts for Electric Models

Volvo Cars has expanded its Connected Safety system through a software update that enables three of its newest electric models to warn each other about a wider range of road hazards, including large animals, pedestrians, cyclists, roadworks, and accidents ahead. The update, announced on August 26, 2026, applies to the EX60, EX90, and ES90, building on a cloud-based warning network the Swedish automaker first launched in 2016. The new capabilities allow a Volvo vehicle to use its sensors and cameras to detect a hazard, log its precise location, and send that data to Volvo's servers.
