Published 25 August 2026

Vitruvias Therapeutics has initiated a nationwide recall of a specific lot of thyroid medication after testing confirmed the tablets may contain more active hormone than labeled, posing a risk of hyperthyroidism to patients. The recall, announced by the company on August 21, 2026, and published by the FDA on August 24, affects lot number 504950 of Thyroid Tablets, USP 30 mg. Of the 3,655 units released from this lot, 1,955 were sold and distributed to direct accounts across the country between January 31, 2025, and September 30, 2025.
