Vigil Violence Erupts in Teesside After A66 Collision

A vigil for one of the victims of a fatal head-on collision on the A66 descended into violence on Thursday evening, with multiple cars set on fire in a field near Haswell, County Durham. The incident, which prompted a major police response, is the latest in a series of violent events that have shaken the Teesside area since the crash on August 22. The gathering on August 27 was held to remember Michael Robert Cahill, 23, who was among five young men killed in the collision. According to reports, attendees at the memorial event skidded vehicles around the field, crashed through hedges, and set five cars ablaze. Blue flares were also lit, and balloons spelling out Cahill's name were released.
