Verstappen rules out 2027 Le Mans entry for now

Max Verstappen has ruled out racing in the 2027 24 Hours of Le Mans for now, while saying the Nürburgring 24 and Spa 24 Hours remain possible if preparation and his Formula 1 schedule allow. He has not confirmed an entry in either endurance race. Speaking to reporters in Baku ahead of the Azerbaijan Grand Prix, the four-time Formula 1 world champion said the Nürburgring and Spa were possibilities, but Le Mans was not on his list at present. He said he wanted to return to the Nürburgring after competing there earlier this year and would do so if he could prepare properly and fit it into his schedule. He described Spa as an exciting option. The 2027 Spa 24 Hours is scheduled for June 26-27, with its official test reported for June 15-16. Those dates do not coincide with a Formula 1 race weekend, according to the event calendar described in the reports. Verstappen’s remarks nevertheless leave participation conditional on his commitments and preparation, rather than establishing that he will race. Le Mans is scheduled for June 12-13, between the Monaco and Portuguese Grands Prix.
