Venice adds Gaza documentary 'Naza' to competition

The Venice Film Festival has added the documentary "Naza" to its main competition lineup, marking a significant and potentially contentious addition to this year's program with its focus on the conflict in Gaza. The film, directed by Israeli filmmakers Yuval Abraham and Rachel Szor, will make its world premiere on September 10 as the only documentary competing for the festival's top prize, the Golden Lion. The festival runs from September 2 to 12. According to the festival synopsis, "Naza" was shot at night on the rooftops of Tel Aviv and "reveals in detail the systems behind Israel's calculated mass killing of Palestinian civilians in Gaza.
