USDT0 Stablecoin Launches on Stellar Network
Tether's omnichain stablecoin, USDT0, is now live on the Stellar network, a move that connects the payments-focused blockchain to a unified pool of USDT liquidity valued at over $180 billion. The integration, which went live in early September 2026, leverages LayerZero's interoperability standard to allow users to access and move the world's most widely used stablecoin across multiple blockchain ecosystems without relying on wrapped tokens or fragmented liquidity pools. The launch represents a significant structural upgrade for Stellar, a network with a long history in international payments and cross-border finance. USDT0 is backed 1:1 by USDT, ensuring parity with the stablecoin's market capitalization. On Stellar, transactions for USDT0 feature sub-cent fees and settle in approximately five seconds, making it an attractive option for high-frequency payment flows and settlements. This integration is particularly impactful in emerging markets across Latin America, Africa, and the Asia-Pacific region, where USDT already functions as a primary settlement asset.
