USD1 Stablecoin Launches Natively on Canton Network

Published 27 August 2026

World Liberty Financial has launched its USD1 stablecoin natively on the Canton Network, providing financial institutions with a dollar-based settlement asset for tokenized real-world assets. The integration, announced on August 25, 2026, allows the stablecoin to be issued directly on the blockchain rather than being bridged from another network, enabling synchronized settlement of both cash and asset components within a single transaction. The move positions USD1 as a cash leg for institutional workflows involving tokenized securities, bonds, and other assets. Canton's system synchronizes both sides of a trade so the cash and asset settle together, reducing the risk that one leg completes while the other remains outstanding. This atomic settlement structure is designed to minimize counterparty risk in regulated financial transactions. The network incorporates privacy and permissioning controls, allowing firms to manage access rights to transaction details while maintaining compliance with market requirements. USD1 now has a market capitalization of approximately $4.05 billion, making it the sixth-largest stablecoin globally.
