US Open players cite cannabis smell as recurring distraction

The smell of cannabis wafting onto the courts at the US Open has become a recurring distraction for players, with several British competitors voicing their concerns ahead of the tournament's start on Sunday. World No. 60 Katie Boulter said the odor, which drifts from the adjacent Corona Park where marijuana is legal for adults, can disrupt her focus during matches. Boulter, who is set to face American Carol Young Suh Lee in the first round, stated she has encountered the smell frequently on the practice courts. "I'm not a huge fan of it," she said. "I know a lot of players have complained on some of the specific courts. I've played on one before and I did smell it during my match.
