UK Government Orders Removal of Dangerous Driving Videos From Platforms
The British government has called on TikTok and other social media platforms to remove viral videos that celebrate dangerous driving, following a fatal crash in northeastern England that killed two police officers and five young men. The collision occurred on Saturday, August 22, 2026, on the A66 dual carriageway in Teesside. Officers Matthew Blades, 37, and Tom Clough, 38, were killed when their marked armed response vehicle was struck head-on by a Volkswagen Passat that had been driven the wrong way along the road.
